About FIND

FIND is moving the conversation about African talent away from “cheap labour” and exploitation, and toward fair access, quality talent and ethical hiring — helping guard against employers exploiting candidates and pushing for better, fairer opportunities instead.

FIND is an early-stage, bootstrapped, founder-led team. We operate fully remote, move fast, wear multiple hats, and need people who can turn direction into finished, published work without needing to be chased.

The Role

Today, FIND's external presence is run by a Social Media team alone. This role exists to grow that into a real Communications & Marketing function — covering PR, internal communications, content marketing, investor-relations support, social media, crisis management, community management and employer branding — and to run it day to day.

You are, first and foremost, an executor. The founders and CMO set direction; your job is to turn that direction into a running content calendar, a properly structured team, and a steady drumbeat of published work across every channel FIND needs — not just social.

You'll own the day-to-day machinery of FIND's communications: building out the function's structure as it grows, coordinating the (soon to be broader) team, keeping every content pipeline moving from idea to published output, and reporting back to leadership — so founders can stay focused on product, technology and growth instead of routine communications coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team & structure: Assess FIND's current social-media-only setup and reshape it into a full communications & marketing function — defining roles, workflows and tools as the team and workload grow.

  • Team & structure: Recruit, brief and coordinate volunteers/contributors across content, design, PR and community as the function expands beyond social media.

  • Public Relations: Draft press releases and media pitches, and build relationships with relevant journalists and outlets to build FIND's brand awareness.

  • Public Relations: Identify and pursue media opportunities, guest features and industry mentions for FIND and its founders.

  • Internal Communications: Share regular company updates with the team so everyone stays aligned on goals, milestones and priorities.

  • Internal Communications: Support culture-building — announcements, recognition, team rituals — that keep a remote, volunteer-heavy team connected.

  • Content Marketing: Write and coordinate blog posts, whitepapers and thought-leadership content that explain FIND's mission and product value.

  • Content Marketing: Own website copy and email content, keeping every owned channel consistent with FIND's brand voice.

  • Investor Relations (support): Draft investor update newsletters and help prepare materials for pitch decks, under CEO/CMO direction.

  • Investor Relations (support): Track and package FIND's growth milestones for investor-facing updates.

  • Social Media: Own the master content calendar and task tracker, and coordinate publishing across LinkedIn, X, Instagram, TikTok and other approved channels.

  • Social Media: Engage with followers and industry peers, and keep an organised record of published content and reusable assets.

  • Crisis Management: Develop and maintain a communications playbook for handling negative feedback, bad press or reputational risk.

  • Crisis Management: Flag emerging issues early and coordinate an appropriate, leadership-approved response — protecting FIND's reputation.

  • Community Management: Interact with early users, candidates and community members across FIND's channels.

  • Community Management: Gather and organise user/candidate feedback for leadership and product visibility.

  • Employer Branding: Promote FIND as a great place to build a career or volunteer, through content that reflects team culture and mission.

  • Employer Branding: Support recruiting with job posts, team spotlights and other candidate-facing content that helps attract talent.

  • Leadership & Reporting: Turn approved priorities from the CMO, CTO, CPO and CEO into practical execution plans — not the other way around.

  • Leadership & Reporting: Run weekly stand-ups with the team, follow up on overdue work, and send leadership short, concise updates: completed work, published content, blockers and next steps.

  • Leadership & Reporting: Document recurring workflows across every function so the team runs consistently even when you're not in the room.

What Success Looks Like

  • A content calendar and tracker that stay current without founders having to check in.

  • Consistent, on-brand publishing and messaging across every channel and function — not just social.

  • A properly structured communications & marketing team, growing out of today's social-media-only setup.

  • A responsive, well-coordinated Social Media team with clear ownership of every task.

  • Founders spend less time on routine communications coordination.

  • Newly implemented communications functions and systems.

  • A working crisis playbook, and early warning when something needs leadership's attention.

  • Steady growth in meaningful engagement, media mentions and employer-brand visibility — not just follower count.

What We Need From You

  • At least 3-5 years of experience.

  • Proven ability to run a content calendar and ship consistently — you finish what's assigned without needing reminders.

  • Comfort coordinating a team of contributors/volunteers: assigning work, following up, and holding people to deadlines respectfully but firmly.

  • Some experience or strong working knowledge of PR/media relations, content writing (blog, newsletter, web copy) and social media publishing.

  • Comfortable drafting investor-facing updates and employer-branding/recruitment content, even without prior in-house experience in either.

  • A level head under pressure — able to help manage negative feedback or reputational issues calmly and escalate appropriately.

  • Comfortable briefing and coordinating design work in Canva or similar tools (you don't need to be the designer, but you need to manage the pipeline).

  • Clear, concise written communication — leadership updates should be short and to the point.

  • Self-motivated and able to operate with minimal supervision in a fully remote, early-stage environment.

Benefits

  • Fully remote — work from anywhere.

  • Flexible, asynchronous schedule built around a 10-hour week.

  • Direct working relationships with the founders and C-suite (CEO, CTO, CPO, CMO).

  • Potential for retention as a founding contributor (equity-based, until FIND is funded).

Approvals You'll Need

You'll own routine execution end to end. Sign-off from the CMO, CTO, CPO or CEO is required before publishing or sending anything that involves:

  • New claims about FIND, its products, impact, results or partnerships

  • Investor, legal, financial or company-registration information — including investor newsletters and pitch materials

  • Hiring, compensation or equity announcements

  • Sensitive founder, team or user information

  • Public responses to controversy, complaints or crisis situations

  • Press releases, media statements, interviews or major partnership announcements

  • Employer-branding content that makes claims about compensation, equity or working conditions

  • Company-wide internal announcements about strategy, restructuring or leadership changes

Hiring Process

  • Stage 1: Initial AI interview.

  • Stage 2: First-phase interview with the CTO and CMO.

  • Stage 3: Onboarding.
