This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced content professional to manage and enhance editorial programs in a fast-paced, impact-driven environment. As a Content Management Consultant & Editor, you will oversee content development, editing, and program coordination, ensuring high-quality, clear, and engaging editorial outputs. You will work with multiple teams and external partners to track content performance, summarize priorities, and maintain organized dashboards. The role emphasizes project management, editorial precision, and alignment with organizational goals, providing the chance to shape messaging and reporting for civic and public-interest initiatives. This is a part-time, remote consulting engagement with a defined scope and deliverables, ideal for someone who thrives on deadline-driven projects and enjoys translating complex topics into accessible content.
Accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain a clear understanding of goals, requirements, and priorities for assigned editorial programs.
- Draft, update, and maintain program one-pagers outlining key elements, expectations, deliverables, and collaborators.
- Edit original reporting to ensure clarity, accuracy, and alignment with program objectives.
- Coordinate with state communications hub partners to gather priority messaging and project needs.
- Communicate summarized priorities to internal teams, review content for alignment, and track distributed materials.
- Maintain content tracking documents and dashboards, reporting on status, publication details, and performance metrics.
- Review content performance using analytics tools, summarize key insights, and prepare periodic updates.
- Use collaboration platforms such as Slack, Asana, and Google Drive to manage workflow and deliverables.
- Significant editing experience, ideally in political, public-affairs, or journalistic content.
- Background in communications, marketing, public relations, political campaigns, or related fields.
- Strong project management and consulting skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines.
- Ability to translate complex policies, political dynamics, and public-interest topics into clear, engaging content for diverse audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfort working independently as an independent contractor and managing your own workload.
- Alignment with civic-minded missions, democracy-strengthening initiatives, or public-interest goals is highly valued.
- Competitive pay of $40–$45 per hour.
- Part-time engagement (30–40 hours per week) through December 31, 2026.
