Power Shifter Digital is seeking an experienced Contract Content Strategist to lead content strategy, governance, and migration planning for a major website modernization project. This engagement involves transitioning a legacy Concrete5 platform to a headless CMS architecture (Sanity) for a manufacturing client in the recreational products industry.

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in content modeling, information architecture, migration strategy, and headless (Composable) CMS implementation. This is a strategic role requiring both analytical thinking and collaborative facilitation skills. You will work closely with UX designers, developers, and SEO specialists to deliver a scalable, future-ready content platform.

Engagement Details: This is a part-time contract role estimated at approximately 70 hours total (we will reassess this once we've completed our Discovery process). Timeline from end of February to early May.

Work Arrangement: Fully remote, within Canada (and legally able to work in Canada). Must be available to work within PST (Pacific Standard Time) business hours.

This project involves migrating a complex B2B website with approximately 288 unique content pages, 1,900+ image assets, and 519 PDF documents. The existing site includes product catalogs, featured project portfolios, press releases, technical resources, and planning tools. Content is structured across multiple sections including Products (41 pages), Featured Projects (93 pages), News (104 pages), Solutions, Planning & Resources, and Support content.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive content and information architecture audit of existing Concrete5 website (288 pages, 1,900+ assets)
  • Create and maintain a Content Matrix mapping user needs, business goals, content types, page templates, and CMS structures.
  • Use the Content Matrix as the primary tool for IA validation, content modeling, and migration decision-making.
  • Facilitate content strategy and governance workshop with client stakeholders, addressing content models, prioritization, ownership, and lifecycle management
  • Develop user journey maps, content prioritization frameworks, and information architecture planning that optimizes for user needs and business goals
  • Develop structured content schema for Sanity CMS implementation in collaboration with development team
  • Collaborate with SEO specialist to ensure content structures support search engine discoverability and schema implementation
  • Create localization-ready content architecture that supports multi-language deployment
  • Map existing Concrete5 content to new Sanity content structures and prioritize content for migration based on business value and user needs
  • Collaborate with SEO specialist on redirect strategy to preserve search equity during migration
  • Create detailed content inventory spreadsheet and define content blocks/components aligned with sitemap and user flows
  • Oversee asset governance and consolidation, identifying opportunities to streamline the content library
  • Collaborate closely with UX, design, development, and SEO teams throughout all project phases
  • Support QA and UAT processes from a content perspective and participate in launch coordination

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in content strategy for complex, enterprise-level websites
  • Proven experience with large-scale content migrations (250+ pages) from legacy CMS platforms to modern headless architectures
  • Deep understanding of content modeling, taxonomy development, and information architecture principles
  • Experience with headless CMS platforms (Sanity, Contentful, Strapi, or similar)
  • Working knowledge of SEO principles and how content structure impacts search discoverability
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops and collaborate with cross-functional teams (UX, design, development, marketing)
  • Experience developing content governance frameworks and migration strategies
  • Excellent documentation skills with ability to create clear, actionable strategic deliverables
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data, spreadsheets, and content inventories
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Intermediate experience with generative AI workflows for analysis, synthesis, and content strategy approaches

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with B2B or manufacturing industry websites
  • Familiarity with Concrete5 or similar legacy CMS platforms
  • Hands-on experience with Sanity CMS (or other Composable CMSs)
  • Knowledge of product catalog content structures and e-commerce considerations
  • Experience with multi-language content strategy and localization workflows
  • Background in user research or content testing methodologies
  • Understanding of analytics platforms (GA4) and measurement strategy
  • Portfolio demonstrating successful content strategy and migration projects
