Job Summary: The Virtual Arkansas Content Technician supports the Design & Development team by implementing, updating, and maintaining digital curriculum within the learning management system. This role is responsible for a variety of course-based tasks, including preparing blueprint courses for upcoming semesters, supporting organization-wide initiatives, and assisting with ongoing course updates. The Content Technician works closely with the Virtual Arkansas Design & Development team to ensure courses are accurate, accessible, consistent, and student-ready. This position requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to evolving project needs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare and update blueprint courses for fall and spring semester implementation.
- Implement organization-wide initiatives within blueprint courses to ensure consistency across all courses.
- Assist with the completion of lingering GLOW tasks and other course update needs.
- Implement course content within the LMS using provided templates and established Virtual Arkansas processes.
- Apply consistent formatting, naming conventions, and organizational structures aligned to Virtual Arkansas standards.
- Participate in quality assurance reviews to ensure content accuracy, functionality, accessibility, and consistency.
- Upload, organize, and maintain course assets, including text, images, videos, and interactive elements.
- Collaborate with the Design & Development team to implement revisions and support goals.
- Resolve basic LMS or content-related issues.
- Participate in project meetings and training as needed.
- Pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and usability of content.
- Prioritize and adapt to meet required deadlines.
- Abide by all Virtual Arkansas and applicable Arch Ford ESC policies and/or regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in using digital tools and learning management systems.
- Basic understanding of accessibility standards (e.g., alt text, heading structure, color contrast).
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and apply consistent formatting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in education, instructional technology, or a related field is desired.
- Experience working in a learning management system (LMS) preferred.
- Experience with online course development or digital content creation is preferred.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices is preferred.
- Demonstration of strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a virtual environment.
- Reliable internet access and use of a personal laptop or desktop computer for work tasks are required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Periodic travel requirements.
- Sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Use hands to handle or feel, type, pick up objects, and reach with hands and arms.
- Talk or hear to communicate effectively.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

- This position will be hired through the Arch Ford Education Cooperative

- Compensation: $4,000.00 minus applicable taxes, retirement, and fees
