Accountabilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality live online AP Environmental Science lessons aligned with the Advanced Placement curriculum for an international cohort of high school students.
- Create an interactive virtual classroom using a variety of digital teaching strategies and educational technologies that support student participation and success.
- Assess student performance through assignments, projects, quizzes, and examinations while providing personalized, constructive feedback to strengthen learning outcomes.
- Develop structured lesson plans, course schedules, assessment timelines, and instructional materials that promote effective progression throughout the course.
- Design meaningful homework, practice assessments, and examination resources to help students build confidence and prepare for AP exams.
- Maintain an organized online learning environment through the learning management system, ensuring students can easily access lessons, assignments, and resources.
- Collaborate with fellow educators by contributing to curriculum development, sharing best practices, and continuously enhancing teaching resources.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of high school (Grades 9–12) classroom teaching experience in a school setting; tutoring experience alone does not satisfy this requirement.
- Strong knowledge of the Advanced Placement (College Board) Environmental Science curriculum and examination standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and academic colleagues.
- Experience using online teaching platforms and confidence integrating technology into live virtual instruction.
- Strong lesson planning, classroom management, assessment design, and student mentoring skills.
- A recognized teaching qualification, teaching license, or postgraduate teaching credential is preferred.
- Previous experience teaching online and preparing students for College Board AP examinations is highly desirable.
