TeachTown is the leading provider of education solutions for students diagnosed with autism, developmental and intellectual disabilities, emotional disorders, and speech/language impairments. Our growing team of professionals is seeking a Grants Writer Independent Contractor. This role will focus on researching, identifying, and securing funding sounds specifically for special education initiatives for new and existing TeachTown customers.
This is a 1099 contractor position with a flexible schedule and does not include benefits. A writing sample will be required upon application submission.
Key Responsibilities:
Research, identify, and secure funding sources, including federal, state, and private grants focused on special education as requested by districts and other government agencies.
Coordinate with the district’s Special Education or Curriculum teams to assess needs and align grant opportunities with special education initiatives
Collaborate with subject matter experts to compile program information, required attachments, and write high quality, compelling submissions that comply with funders’ requirements
Develop proposals to secure available funding opportunities, ensuring they align with objectives aimed at special education
Provide technical assistance in developing grants and contract proposals with a focus on special education
Monitor and report on awarding grants, ensuring compliance with requirements specific to special education funding sources, including spending and programmatic goals
Assist districts, schools, and departments with contract and procurement processes related to special education initiatives, including purchase orders and requisitions for TeachTown curricula
Process grant amendments for any programmatic changes related to special education that may occur
Ensure accurate and timely submissions of district special education related grants
Requirements:
3+ years of experience in securing grant funding this includes and is not limited to Grant writing, writing for special education funding procurement, and prospect research.
Familiarity with with federal, state, and local government procurement regulations and policies
Excellent written communication skills, as well as attention to accuracy and detail
Ability to write clear, concise, and persuasive grant proposals
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite and experience with proposal management software and tools
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively
